It represents the first serious attempt in the modern era to recreate an absinthe from the very birth of absinthe, when the drink straddled the line between liquor and potion, when it was as much magical and mysterious elixir as fashionable aperitif.

On the nose it presents an alpine scent of the Pontarlier-grown herbs and a refreshing, sweet taste of green anise, then wormwood followed by fennel with hints of lemon and peppermint.

Un Emile was originally recreated with the help of LDF just before the ban was lifted in France and was the first traditionally made French absinthe to be imported into the UK.
