Simon Pearce

Simon Pearce is a talented Irish craftsman who moved his glassworks from the green hills of Ireland to Vermont and is now considered among the preeminent glassblowers and designers in the USA.
After producing his original clear glass line for ten years in the town of Kilkenny, Ireland, Simon moved his operation to Vermont in 1981. The quaint town of Quechee provided a scenic location as well as a hydroelectric power source to fuel his glass furnace in an old woolen mill. Eventually, he opened a second glassblowing facility in Windsor, Vermont. As demand for Simon Pearce's work has grown through the years, the two studios have increased their production. Reproducing Simon's original creations, his glassblowers are trained in the traditional techniques and continue to maintain his high standards of quality. The final glass piece, whether drinking glass, vase, bowl, or candle holder, exudes the unmistakable quality for which Simon Pearce has become so famous. Using traditional techniques means that the creation process is much slower than that of the mechanical glass production process. Adhering to this hands-on creative process gives each piece of Simon Pearce glass its own distinct character.

"The simpler something is, the longer it will be appreciated. Function is also integral. Every glass should feel comfortable to the lips..."

Simon Pearce now produces his first custom glassware designs exclusively for the Tempus Fugit Absinthe Collection. Inspired by original antique Belle Époque French glassware, these pieces are unsurpassed in modern times. The 'must' glass for the discerning absintheur, each piece must be held and drunk from in order to truly appreciate their perfection.
This extraordinary series of glasseware is now available through Liqueurs de France and Tempus Fugit!

The globe is filled with absinthe and the same amount of cold water is poured slowly into the glass. Stop, and enjoy watching the absinthe and water mix and dance in smoky swirls. Add water afterward to your personal taste.
