La Valdetra Verte 70cl 53% abv (106 proof) A naturally-coloured green Swiss absinthe from a well respected distiller. The recipe more closely follows the original style of the 19th century recipe found hidden in the cellar, along with an old alambic still(!), when the distiller purchased her house in the Val de Travers. Three different plants are used in the colouring step and these add a distinctive flavour to the finished product. This absinthe has a strong aroma of wormwood and produces a thick louch when diluted with water. The palette is characteristic of Swiss absinthe and has a long finish. La Ptite Swiss absinthe 70cl 53%abv (106 proof) La Ptite is a classic Swiss absinthe which will appeal to afficioados of La Bleue. It is produced in the Val de Travers by Gaudentia Persoz, Switzerland's first female absinthe distiller, and former producer of clandestine La Bleue. When we were approached by Gaudentia to stock La Ptite we were fortunate to have a company director in nearby Pontarlier who immediately travelled over the border into Switzerland to sample the absinthe at first hand. Both he and the group of absintheurs that were travelling with him recognized the quality of the absinthe and we decided there and then to offer it to our customers. Gaudentia Persoz's 'La Ptite' is a classic, satisfying "La Bleue style" absinthe, with fresh aromas of wormwood, anise and mint and draws to mind the heady Swiss mountain atmosphere that we had been enjoying so much near the Creux-du-Van cliffs. It is a lighter style of absinthe which has found favour with absintheurs looking for a different flavour profile to traditional La bleues.
