Enigma Verte is the new name for Verte de Fougerolles. We have revamped our label with a design that celibrates the combination of mystery and Art Nouveau that defines the spirit of absinthe. Our absinthe remains EXACTLY the same, only the name and look have changed. Why have we done this? Because with our continuing expansion into multiple international markets we found that many customers who couldn't speak French were having trouble pronouncing and remembering the name 'Fougerolles!' We hope that you will enjoy this dynamic new look for one of our oldest and best received absinthes.

Enigma Verte is an outstanding, unfiltered premium absinthe made from a combination of aromatic herbs and plants, including grande and petite wormwood, anise, fennel and hyssop. It uses a grape-base alcohol and is bottled at 72°, in order to hold its natural green colour and present its aromas to the fullest. Made by following the distillery's own technique of distilling each plant separately, blending the resulting full alcohol distillates and then finishing with an 'esprit vert' ('green spirit' - a natural maceration of additional plants in grape spirits, including veronica, a.k.a.'speedwell' - adding tea-like aromas) which is mixed in during the final colouring stage of production. It louches beautifully, and is complex and intense. Sure to please those who are searching for a spicy, yet traditional absinthe. It represents one of the best quality/cost values in modern traditional absinthes.

70 cl 74% abv (148 proof)

Enigma Blanche is the new name for Blanche de Fougerolles.

LDF presented distiller Hugues de Miscault with the challenge of working with an absinthe recipe directly from the pages of a 19th century French liquoriste manual. Blanche de Fougerolles is made with a grape-alcohol base, and combines grande and petite wormwood, green anise, hyssop, veronica, camomile, génepi, fennel, coriander and angelica; all plants are individually distilled into full 80%+ alcoholates, which are then blended. The alcoholic strength is then reduced as historically specified to 74%, giving this absinthe real backbone, but by no means overpowers the finesse and lingering aromas of this complex combination of aromatic plants specified by this highly regarded and well documented recipe. This absinthe is often compared to, and surpasses in quality, many uncoloured Swiss la Bleues now made today.

La Coquette absinthe

70cl 72% abv (144 Proof)

La Coquette is a premium absinthe recreated from an historic recipe dating from 1899. This absinthe is produced with a wine alcohol base, combining a floral nose with an original, unctuous and herbal flavour that connoisseurs will appreciate for its complexity. The aromatic herbs are clearly at the forefront while the green anise remains present, but discreet! In the style of the classic absinthes of the past, La Coquette has great aging potential.
